I rose early this morning, around 7 a.m., had my coffee, prayed Psalm 25 and then prepared to take my first meds. At 8 a.m., I took an augmentin (prescribed for the sinus infection) and three Rebetols. To remind me, I put aPost-it on the mirror that says, "Healing on the 8s." I did that because I also planned to do my evening dose of augmentin and Rebetol, as well as the PEG-Intron, at 8 p.m. Some people report a problem with concentration and I wanted to be sure to have a reminder.
Around 7:30 p.m., Amy (a nurse in my congregation) came over and prepared my first shot. It was supposed to be the Redipen (prepared dosage), but was mistakenly dispensed as the standard syringe where the stuff needs to be mixed. The pharmacy allowed me to keep one kit and send the other three back to be dispensed as Redipens.
The side-effects can come within a few hours or as far away as 15-40 hours.
We'll just have to see ...
