In case you're jumping over from The Ooze ...

I just noticed that my blog has been added to links found at theooze.com, my favorite postmodern Web site. Thanks, Malcolm!

In case you are jumping over here from The Ooze, please know that I am in the middle of blogging the journey of Hepatitis C treatment. If that sort of stuff bores you, you can peruse the archives prior to January 9 and find other personal topics, or check my writings at The Buzz Trexler Experience.

Another jaunt you can take is to The Pastor's Buzz, my other blog, which has little if anything about Hep C and more emerging church stuff.

In any case, welcome to the journey!

Drawing Week 4 to a close ...

I had the blood test done for the end of Week 4 today. I won't know the results until likely Monday or Tuesday.

I picked up the second month's meds today and discovered they had mistakenly filled the PEG-Intron as a Redipen. We want to try the syringes again. However, they were swamped at the pharmacy with flu scripts and I couldn't bear the thought of having them change the order.

They also filled the ribivarin with the generic brand, which surprised me. They said it was at Dr. Scott's direction. I checked with Dr. Scott's office and they said it was, which I didn't doubt, and that it really didn't matter that it was generic rather than the Rebetol. Walgreen's had called them and said it was cheaper and Dr. Scott OK'd it. I suspect my insurance company called Walgreen's.

I guess the stamp on my latest Blue Cross/Blue Shield correspondence was prophetic. It read, "Demand Generic!"

As long as the virus disappears, it's OK with me.

The Night Shift ...

I was pretty well dragging most of the day on Thursday, but went on to work. Not sure it had as much to do with the treatment as it was getting used to being back on the Night Shift. I left about an hour early.

Going to pick up my script for blood work and try to get that done today before heading to The Daily Times. That way I'll have the results (CBC and liver panel only) on Monday.

Incidentally, since this blog has largely served as a treatment log, and will continue to do so until the outcome is revealed, anyone who is interested in my other musings might want to jog over to The Pastor's Buzz.
