Time to make the white blood cells!
No, no, not Neutrogen. That's the stuff for skin problems ... however, I wonder if that will work better than the lotion I'm currently using.
According to Drugs.com, "Neupogen is a protein that stimulates production of white blood cells." It increases white blood cells, which decreases the risk of infection.
There's some funny stuff when you read about it:
- Somehow it is associated with E. Coli and carries the warning, "Do not use Neupogen if you have an allergy to the bacterium E. Coli." Is anyone not affected by E. Coli?
- "Contact your doctor if you develop a fever; chills; congestion ..." OK, let's see: I do this shot 24 hours before I do the PEGIntron. The PEGIntron sometimes sends me into chills or fever, while the Ribavirin can cause sinusitis. (In fact, I've had congestion since the day before I started treatment.)
What a gas!
Grace and peace ...
