More on missed dose ...

I talked to the Be In Charge nurse at Schering. By the way, if you are doing PEGIntron/Rib combo, this is a great program with a nurse available 24/7 to talk to when you have questions.

At any rate, she said the missed dose is not likely to matter much given that the half-life of the medication is so long. She said the doctor will probably say the same thing.

The nurse also said my state of mind on Monday was more likely due to the PEGIntron and not the missed dosage.

OK, panic time over ...

Grace and peace ...

Aye-yi-yiiiiiii ...

In the words of my Guatemalan friends, "Aye-yi-yiiiii!"

On Sunday evening as I prepared to take my final dose of the day I counted out my weekly dosage into my pill box. I don't know if I got interrupted, or what, but I goofed. On Monday morning, there were pills in every slot. It wasn't until this morning that, for some reason, I opened the Sunday slot and there were only three pills in there. I counted the remaining pills and I come up three over. I never took Sunday evening's dose ...

Sigh.

OK, dummy, new practice: Do not fill the slots until you take the final Sunday dose!

I checked on the Web and it says if you miss a dose and discover it during the same day, take the dose. Otherwise, call your doctor, but not to double up. I called Nurse Roxanne and she said she does not think it will matter treatment-wise, but since Dr. Scott's out til Monday she will talk to his partner.

Nurse Roxanne asked, "Are you feeling OK?" I told her I was, but that I was really whacked out emotionally on Monday.

It's possible that is why.

Sheesh!
