WINGSPAN: 100 inches FUSELAGE LENGTH: 65 inches WING AREA: 1200 square inches
WEIGHT: 16 lbs. POWER: 1.5 - 1.8 c.i.
Our 1: 5.75 Scale Model of the De Haviland Beaver features a light but very rigid composite epoxy glass fuselage with windows cut out and door outlines molded in. The large distinctive Beaver fin is molded separately to permit access to the tail. The unusual landing gear arrangement could not be reproduced in the usual aluminum frame so it is molded in epoxy with carbon fiber reinforcement and seperate fairings. The 10" dia. Cowl completely hides the Super Tigre 2500 used to power the prototype model. The balsa sheeted foam core plug-in wings and stab are finely sanded and the control surfaces are cut out. The holes for the epoxy glass sleeves for the aluminum wing joiner are drilled in the wing and fuselage. The kit also includes all the balsa and ply parts, many of them already machined to shape, to complete the model plus clear plastic for the windows. The hardware package contains all the nuts and bolts required plus silver steel axles with locknuts and a very detailed illustrated instruction manual which includes lots of good scale information taken from the original pilots manual. Specially priced 4" dia. light weight wheels and scale aluminum spinner are available. Composite epoxyglass Scale EDO floats with mountaing hardware as shown in the photo of our prototype, are also available as an optional extra. The weight with floats is 22 lbs.
